My christmas eve outfit! Haha, I'm sinking into the wood-chips here - it really doesn't do my faux Balmain heels justice. I stumbled upon these amazing fingerless sequin gloves during some last-minute present shopping and I couldn't resist!! I still have no idea what I'm wearing tomorrow. Or today I should say... hrmm... I'll sleep on it as I wait for Santa to land.

Peachy Keen

I have longed for the perfect tutu since the beginning of summer - and now, five months later, I've finally found it. Having taken ballet for ten years of my life - I know a thing or two about tutus. I wanted one that wasn't too costume-y, one that's not too structured or frilly. I also wanted the tulle to be somewhat softer - I detest cheap tulle, it's probably the quickest way to ruin a great outfit. And low and behold, I found this adorable nude tutu just hanging on the rack by its lonesome at H&M. Naturally, I had to give it a home. It didn't seem like it had too many friends in the store anyway.

I also love the combination of pastels - if it hadn't been so cold I would have gone tights-less. But I think the black tights give it a nice fall feel. Can we also talk about how amazing the faux ysl club monaco belt is!?!? I am SOOOO in love with it!!

Please ignore my nails, they're a horrible shade of pink leftover from halloween. I've been lazyyy.

I'm finally back in Michigan again. its very bittersweet as I'm glad to be with all my friends, but very very sad to leave the city. I did miss all the beautiful parks and green spaces in Michigan - Central Park wasn't enough for me.

Now I'm done working, my nails are able to resume to their crazy colors again. I'm currently wearing Essie's Punchy Pink from their Neon Collection. And I desperately want to get my hands on that fluorescent yellow polish they make.

It was raining on my day off - so I decided to make good use of my time by snapping some artsy shots with help from my tripod. Sorry the images are kinda pixelated - the lighting was horrible.

This is also my ode to the amazing beyond amazing Balmain spring '09 collection. I am slowly collecting cheap DIY-esque pieces to complete my faux collection. Next Stop: Bleached jeans - but ones that are not too overdone.

Also - I got the amazing chance to see Ed Westwick at Bloomingdale's. He's ten times more attractive in person - here's some pics that I managed to snap - although I totally felt bad about it.




oh, and highlight of my day - He blew me a kiss. No joke.

I got to go to the "Model as Muse" exhibit at the MET over the weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed it - although the massive crowds of people in the exhibit was a bit off-putting. It was probably one of my favorite exhibitions that I've seen at the MET - and I'm an art history geek - so that's saying something. It really tried to understand the role of the model through time - and the interplay of fashion and photography was very well thought out. I would highly recommend this exhibit to anyone who loves fashion and or photography. I went with my roommate (an up-and-coming photographer) and she absolutely loved it.

I also almost bought a pastel green tutu today - but I resisted due to lack of sufficient funds. Instead I bring you this fairy-tale-esque editorial from numero 104 to satisfy my cravings for flouncy princess dresses.







It's Vlada (one of my all-time favorite girls) shot by Greg Kadel. I've noticed that a lot of the editorial I've posted were shot by him - I really like his style!

A taste of Beijing

I'm finally back from Beijing, but I've found out that Blogger is currently blocked in China, thus I am blogging to you from a proxy site, which I probabably shouldn't be doing, but... a girl needs to blog!! Lets just hope that this proxy site doesnt get blocked as well - stupid chinese censorship...

Anyway on to more exciting things - heres a picture recap of my weekend in Beijing!

The next day we went to the great wall - the greatest workout of my life...





and we visited the birds nest, the national theatre, and the watercube - and ive gotta say the watercube is my favorite out of the three







Then we visited this awesome renovated factory - called 789 - which is now full of contemporary art galleries - it was probably my favorite place that we visited but sadly we couldn't take any pictures =(

anyway, I dont know how many more posts I can make from China - seeing that blogger is blocked - so I might not be able to post again till next weekend ... it sucks... but... what can you do?
